Born in a lower-middle-class section of New York City in 1954, Sean Harrison has been called “The man of a million stories.” After a successful thirty-two-year career in orthopedics and raising a family, Sean has dedicated his life to the service of others. He is a community activist who believes addiction, and not money, is the root of all evil. He often is found sharing a meal with one of his “outdoor friends” or speaking to groups of men and women locked behind bars, in detox centers, and recovery houses throughout San Diego.

Sean’s fundamental belief is that anyone who suffers from the pain of living can change the way they live by altering their thoughts. He inspires men and women from all walks of life, and his talks have mesmerized audiences for decades. In Out of the Ghetto, Sean shares a lifetime of insights about the horrors of addiction and the joys of recovery in a way that is lite and easy to understand.
